Torremolinos, February 5, 2021. The Councilor for Culture of the Torremolinos City Council, David Tejeiro, has presented this morning at the Prince of Asturias Municipal Auditorium 'March, the month of theater', a new cycle of performances that was born with the intention "To stay in time and become a benchmark at the Andalusian level."

The works will be performed every Saturday next month, always at 12:00h noon and with a capacity limited to 200 people, thus complying with the restrictions established by the health authorities. “We have been saying it for almost a year and we repeat it again and demonstrate: culture is safe and necessary.''

''In Torremolinos we are going to continue betting on top-level events for all audiences and on a quality culture with all the resources that we have at our disposal to do so safely ”, Tejeiro stated.

With this new cycle of theatre, the councilor has pointed out that the area of ??Culture pursues a double objective: on the one hand, “to continue bringing quality theater to Torremolinos so that we do not have to travel to Malaga to see company plays professionals” and on the other, when the restrictions and the situation allow it,“ people from other municipalities can come so that
cultural offer is a tourist complement and one more reason to visit our city ”.

The Councilor for Culture highlights the importance of continuing to support a varied and quality artistic promotion program.

The new performing arts proposal "is very ambitious" and brings to Torremolinos "successful titles, fun, hooligans and with a strong social commitment that invite us to have fun but also to reflect on important issues", said the mayor, putting the emphasis on the role that institutions must play in “promoting quality cultural education”.

The cycle will begin on March 6th with the play ‘Una Rubia no tan Legal’, by the company Copo Producciones. Friendship, the job insecurity of recent graduates, new political parties and betrayal are put at the service of a crazy comedy that takes nothing seriously, but in which everything that is involved is deeper than it seems .

On March 13, the function 'Hambre' (La Líquida company) will be represented, where music, gastronomy and theater are mixed in the same show to fill spirits, stomachs and consciences ... A wonderful journey full of humor to confirm that laughter is the food of the soul and that culture is the only thing that can save us.

Its protagonist, David García, has also been in the presentation of the theater series, highlighting the irreverent and fun nature of this play that arrives in Torremolinos after visiting dozens of theaters. “It is a format that you want to see after everything we are going through. Culture is super necessary and laughter too, because sadness is eating us. The cultural fact in itself feeds and is necessary both socially and emotionally", declared the head of the company who also recalled that "culture gives work to many people'' and that thanks to initiatives such as the one in Torremolinos "it is possible to continue putting I value this profession always through responsibility”.

On the penultimate Saturday, March 20, you can see 'El Receso de la Rubia', also by Copo Producciones, second part of "Una Rubia not Tan Legal" where the same protagonist will show that she is still the fierce and ruthless lawyer that she has always been , and now he is going to prove it in a controversial trial against the prosecution.

Finally, the cycle will close with ‘La Vengadora de las Mujeres’, by the group Jóvenes Clásicos, a fable where women of yesterday and today are summoned to testify in a historic judicial hearing. Machismo will sit in the dock. The testimonies of the victims will give voice to centuries of history and stories, all with the conscience as a popular jury.

Tickets will be available from today and can be purchased at a price of 6 euros online through the website http://latiendadelasentradas.com/ or by calling 615 652 453. On the day of the performance they can be purchased at the box office at the same price.
