The Councilor for Culture of the Torremolinos City Council, David Tejeiro, today advanced the premiere of 'Ivy', the fourth short film by director Fran Campos, which will be screened at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center next Friday at 18:00p.m. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached, which will once again be restricted to respect the health measures for the prevention of Covid-19.
Tejeiro has declared that "within the modest possibilities that the City Council has, we are supporting all artistic disciplines, from comics to literature and audiovisual creation was not going to be less." The councilor has made reference to the presence in ‘Ivy’ of local venues such as the Casa de Los Navajas. "In Torremolinos we have many locations that can be used in film production that we want to make known and that with productions like this, which we are sure will travel all over the world through international festivals, we will make known among creators and film professionals”.
For his part, director Fran Campos has remarked that "it is a fanfilm based on the origins of one of the most mythical villains in the DC Comics universe, Gotham's Poison Ivy, seen from a more intimate perspective, with touches of drama and horror thriller ”.
The story tells us the relationship between a young botanist, Dr. Pamela Isley, and her mentor, Dr. Jason Woodrue, a connection that will soon grow into something more personal, and that will lead them to descend into the deepest and darkest of both. , changing them forever.
The short film will be screened next Friday 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center with free admission.
The short film "IVY" is the fourth project as director of Fran Campos, after the micro short film "PK", and the fanfilm "MisfitSized" and its recently released sequel "MisfitSized Track 2", which is having great international acceptance, having been already selected in ten International festivals so far this year, in places like London, Canada, Italy or the United States.
Laura Ávila and Jorge Porras have participated in this work in the leading roles of Dra. Isley / Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue, respectively. This cast will be accompanied by journalist Roxanna Panero, who is making her acting debut, in the role of Wayne Biotech's director, Lana Larson, and by theater and dubbing actor Javier Cereto as Alec Holland.
