Torremolinos, January 15, 2021. The Councilor for Culture, David Tejeiro, and the photographer Fran Doblas have inaugurated this morning the exhibition ‘Escape inwards’ at the Casa de los Navajas. A project that the artist began during the confinement decreed in March of last year through social networks and that now sees the light in a deep reflection on those days and how people faced it individually.

The exhibition can be visited until February 14 at the Casa de Los Navajas.

To carry out this compilation of images, Doblas had the participation of friends through social networks. They were asked to submit a picture of their isolation and a questionnaire was provided via email for them to do a self-reflection exercise. Some of the answers can also be seen in this visual creation show.

"It is an exhibition that brings to mind some very uncertain moments, in which we did not know what was going to happen or what was happening and that has marked us as a society," said the Councilor for Culture. 'It is an extraordinary testimony of this stage that we have had to live composed of works of great quality and with the special sensitivity that characterizes Fran Doblas', Tejeiro stressed.

With the two initial tools (questionnaire and selfie), the photographer has wanted to capture through photographic montages and visual necklaces the most intimate parts of her story in a metaphorical way.

According to Doblas, conceptually "the historical moment in which the image has been taken can make it unique." The artist has considered that 'those selfies that we normally take to escape outwards, towards what we want to show others, fooling ourselves many times with a supposed happiness that we do not feel but we do want others to see, this time, what they invite us is to escape inwards, towards what we really feel '.
