The activity promoted by the Culture area invites us to reinvent the cover of the book "Alice in Wonderland"

Torremolinos, March 30, 2021.

The Department of Culture launches an artistic contest to redraw the cover of Lewis Carrol's classic "Alice in Wonderland". It is a participatory activity that begins to commemorate in Torremolinos the Day of the Book that is celebrated on April 23.

According to the mayor of Culture, David Tejeiro, “already last year, during the confinement we carried out this same activity but reinventing the cover of 'El Quijote', and it was a great success for both participation and creative works, so we hope to be able to repeat it this year ”.

The councilor has indicated that this is the first of the proposals that are scheduled for Book Day. "If the situation remains as it has been until now, during the month of April we will carry out other activities with the aim of promoting and stimulating reading among the younger public," he said.

On this occasion, the people who want to join will have to create a cover of the work ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and send it before next April 22 to the municipal library email: bibliotecapicasso@torremolinos.es.

All participants will receive a story as a gift and the creator of the winning drawing may also attend a session on "Saturdays with Art" held by the Artenanos school, which once again collaborates in this initiative, where they will receive a drawing class and artistic creation. All the works will be part of a small exhibition that will be held at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center.
