Similarly, the mayor has highlighted that the installation of the same in this year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic seeks to revitalize the urban center and local commerce during the Christmas season. "We want the residents of Torremolinos to enjoy the lights in their neighborhood and also come to the center, being responsible for security measures but at the same time supporting local commerce and hospitality," he said.

Despite the 10% reduction in the budget due to the Covid-19 crisis, lighting reaches 30% more streets and squares and will achieve an energy saving of 56% thanks to the replacement by led lights

"We wanted to maintain the decorative lighting for Christmas and other typical proposals of these dates because it is a further support to local businesses in the face of the sales campaign," said the mayor, recalling that "in Torremolinos it will be possible to continue enjoying the atmosphere festive within the limits established by current circumstances ”.

In this sense, from the General Services Area for Citizenship, with Antonio Navarro in charge, they have reported that this year, despite the savings, they have managed to reach new areas such as García de la Serna street, Cantarranas, Madame Bovary, Giordano Bruno or Camino del Pinillo, in addition to a reform and expansion of the lighting in roundabouts and parks in the municipality.
