Torremolinos, May 2, 2021.

The Department of Culture has reported today that the IX Rock Route of 2021, one of the most important events in Torremolinos, is postponed. Scheduled for the weekends of May 14 to 16 and from May 21 to 23, this year it had 126 concerts scheduled with the participation of 44 locals.

The decision is made after the recommendations made by the Safety and Health areas of the City Council "which have suggested we postpone the activity since the sanitary conditions still do not advise this type of celebrations", as pointed out by the Councilor for Culture, David Tejeiro.

“We regret and apologize to the artists and merchants who had high hopes for this Route of Rock, some to start acting after many months and others to recover their activity little by little for the summer, but it is an event that due to its characteristics, it requires a health situation with less incidence than the one we have at the moment”, stated the mayor.

The councilor has insisted that the intention of the City Council is to resume it as soon as the necessary conditions are met, "it has been months of work since the delegation and everything is ready to start the Route at any time".

David Tejeiro points out that the decision was made after the recommendations made by the Health and Safety area.
